A Benefit for Gary Dusyn
MBPOA
The Manhattan Beach Police Officers Association (MBPOA) was incorporated in 1972. The mission of the association is to provide for the benefit of its members, currently consisting of police officers and police sargeants, in the areas of labor, law, and insurance, as well as to promote harmony and good morale.
The MBPOA provides numerous charitable contributions throughout the year to various youth sporting organizations, civic groups, and other charitable efforts including Mira Costa High School, Leadership Manhattan Beach and the OTS Roundhouse Aquarium.
We sometimes also have to look within our ranks and are reminded that sometimes charity starts at home. We have supported two of our police officers recently in their fight against cancer. We are including as a part of our "family" Gary Dusyn who is a jailer for Manhattan Beach Police Department (MBPD) and his battle against lung cancer. Gary, who is 54 years old, has been with the MBPD for 22 years. He is a military veteran and served in the Air Force. Gary is married to his loving wife Carol. One of his favorite past times is bowling and a few years ago he was a part of a MBPD bowling team that competed, and medaled, in the Arizona Police and Fire Games.
